The announcement of new payment functionalities on X has catalyzed a surge in interest for meme coins such as Dogecoin (DOGE), Floki (FLOKI), and Shiba Inu (SHIB). This growing enthusiasm is evident in the significant increase in futures open interest for these coins. Despite the heightened trading volumes, there has been little impact on their prices. 
Shiba Inu, in partnership with D3, is gearing up to submit an application to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to establish a new top-level domain, ".shib". One of the initial features available for users will be the ability to create their own email addresses. 
Shibarium, the Layer 2 blockchain by Shiba Inu's creators, is back in action. After a temporary shutdown due to scalability issues, the team has reopened withdrawals on its bridge to Ethereum. The pause initially locked millions in user funds and caused community unrest.
Now, the mainnet and bridge are fully functional, allowing withdrawals of various assets like SHIB, LEASH, and WETH within 45 minutes to 3 hours. BONE token withdrawals are also back but may take up to 7 days. 
LunarCrush, the data analytics company, has reported that the most frequent search on their platform is now the SHIB token, overtaking Optimism (OP) and Worldcoin (WLD) which landed in the second and third spots respectively.
Notably, this "meme token" has shown a surge in its overall social engagement by 20% and has held a strong social dominance of 4.8% in the past 24 hours. 
Doge’s Canine Icon, Kabosu, is Still Going Strong!
The internet can breathe a sigh of relief; the charming Shiba Inu Kabosu, who rose to fame as the face of Dogecoin, is very much alive. Contrary to the swirling rumors of her demise, Kabosu recently celebrated her 18th birthday in the Japanese city of Sakura. 
Tangem's previous success in July saw them selling 5,000 cold wallets, each compatible with a staggering 6,000+ cryptocurrencies. A new batch is now available, yet again sporting a Shiba Inu design.
According to the company, the first shipment reached a Hong Kong warehouse without issue and has been sent to customers. 
The immense wave of transactions and heightened user activity took Shibarium by surprise, causing some tech glitches, says Shytoshi Kusama, the co-founder of the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
He's also quick to debunk the rumors about funds getting stuck in the bridging contracts, terming it as pure FUD.
"Although we expected a very busy moment, we never expected THIS much traffic, instantly," reflects Shytoshi Kusama.
At its launch, the Shibarium team tackled a load of 160 million computational tasks in a span of about 30 minutes, while anticipating only 400 million within a month.
