Dan Gallagher, the Chief Legal Officer at Robinhood, is being considered as a potential candidate to lead the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) if Donald Trump secures the presidency, Politico reports, referencing opinions from former SEC officials.

Robinhood has entered into an official agreement to acquire the global cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp. This deal will enable the platform to offer cryptocurrency trading services outside the U.S., as Bitstamp holds over 50 active licenses and registrations worldwide.

Company’s CEO Vladimir Tenev affirmed the company’s commitment to its global aspirations, with the UK expansion serving as a strategic move in that direction.

Robinhood released the beta version of Robinhood Wallet in September to 10,000 users who joined the waitlist. The wallet is now available to 1 million waitlisted customers. Robinhood Wallet is more than just a wallet. It's a full-fledged app allowing to trade tokens and view NFTs. It provides access to additional Web3 features like connecting to dApps and NFT marketplaces on Ethereum and Polygon.

In 2021, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Robinhood in Washington, citing violations of Commercial Electronic Mail Act and Consumer Protection Act.

Robinhood's legal team is nearing a settlement with investors who sued the platform for halting the trading of GameStop meme stocks in 2021. A resolution and closure of the case are expected within the next two weeks.

The platform will offer zero trading fees and a unique feature where customers receive a percentage of their monthly trading volume in Bitcoin.
