ZachXBT could head Arbitrum DAO Security Council

Arbitrum DAO is conducting the final vote for the new Security Council, the key governing body responsible for safeguarding the network and making emergency decisions in case of protocol threats.
Voting began on October 13 and will continue until November 3, but starting October 20, the decay period begins – meaning voting power gradually diminish as the election nears its end. Delegates are encouraged to cast their votes before October 20 to maintain full voting power.
Community members are electing six candidates who will serve on the council for the next six months.
Among the nominees are prominent on-chain investigator ZachXBT, researcher Emiliano Bonassi, and teams from Gauntlet, Cyfrin, ConsenSys Diligence, WakeUp Labs, Blockful, Gzeon, and others. All 13 finalists made it through the nomination stage.
Right now, ZachXBT leads the vote with nearly 14 million votes (45%), followed by gzeon (5.7 million, 18.4%) and Emiliano Bonassi (4.6 million, 15%). Griff Green and ConsenSys Diligence sitting below 3%, outside the top six.

Although the vote runs until November 3, the distribution of votes already shows a clear trend: independent researchers and individuals are gaining an edge over larger organizational teams.
The Arbitrum Security Council consists of 12 members, half of whom are re-elected every six months. The council is responsible for emergency upgrades, multisig management, and can trigger emergency procedures if critical vulnerabilities are discovered.
This election has drawn record participation, a sign the DAO is maturing. Results will be announced on November 3, after which the elected members will gain access to the multisig keys and assume responsibility for maintaining network security.
The Security Council elections are another important step in strengthening Arbitrum’s decentralized governance and protecting the ecosystem ahead of the upcoming Stylus and Orbit upgrades.
