Konstantin Kudo’s tragic death: crypto community pays tribute

October 10 to 11 brought one of the hardest nights for crypto traders. A flash crash wiped out nearly $19 billion, surpassing the scale of the COVID crash. At the same time, Ukraine’s crypto scene lost one of its brightest figures, Konstantin Kudo.
Crypto prices plunged after U.S. President Donald Trump announced new tariffs on China. It’s still unclear if that was the main cause of the crash, but it once again raised doubts about how truly decentralized crypto is.
Many traders had a rough night. Popular trader HAMAHA, who has over 140,000 subscribers on YouTube, said in a video that he lost $1 million in just 10 minutes. He showed his trades and blamed exchanges and whales for price manipulation. HAMAHA said he won’t return to the crypto market unless he’s compensated.

After the overnight crash, the crypto community woke up to even more tragic news. Well-known Ukrainian trader Konstantin Hanich, also known as Kostya Kudo, was found dead in his car. He was a co-founder of the popular crypto academy Cryptology Key. Many in the community shared their sadness and paid tribute.
"We know many of you are waiting to hear from us, but the pain today is overwhelming, and words are hard to find. Kostya Kudo is no longer with us. It’s a heartbreaking loss for everyone who knew him, worked with him, or stood by his side. It still doesn’t feel real. An investigation is ongoing, and there are no confirmed details at this time. Please avoid sharing unverified information," the Cryptology Key team wrote on Telegram.
“All those numbers just fade into the background. The hit to morale is huge. You can always make more money, but you can’t bring a person back,” wrote crypto influencer Buchachos. A few days before the tragedy, he had shared a podcast episode with Kudo, not realizing it would be their last.

The MaykanInvest community also spoke out, along with well-known traders Cryptomann and Hexdrunker.
“I think we all have a lot to reflect on - in life, in work, and in our trading. When we say trading is one of the hardest professions, we usually mean the toll it takes on your mental health, the chronic stress, and the constant battles with yourself. Money is a heavy burden, and not everyone can carry it, but it should never come before your health, your life, your family, or the people you love. “I always saw Kostya as mentally strong, even though he was also a sensitive person. He was a clear example that discipline is everything. Maybe he took public opinion too much to heart, and over time, that pressure built up and wore him down from the inside. My deepest condolences go out to his parents, his girlfriend, his team, and his partners.”
“Kostya and I weren’t close friends, but we stayed in touch and had been talking more lately. We always teased each other about what was better, crypto or trading, and shared our problems/cases/ideas. I can’t imagine what happened that made him take such a step. He was only 32, it felt like he had already ‘beaten the game,’ and then something went wrong. My condolences to his loved ones. Stay strong,” wrote Hexdrunker on Telegram.
