Investors withdrew 61,400 ETH worth $270 million from centralized exchanges on September 1, 2025, according to Coinglass data.
Binance recorded the largest outflow at 44,200 ETH, followed by OKX with 9,841 ETH and Kraken with 4,219 ETH. Coinbase Pro was the only major exchange to see net inflows, receiving 2,859 ETH.

Exchange outflows occur when funds move from exchange wallets to private storage or cold wallets. No official reason was provided for the large-scale withdrawals.

Ethereum reached a new all-time high of $4,946 last week before pulling back to around $4,414. The cryptocurrency has posted 77% gains in Q3 2025, with U.S. Ethereum ETFs now hold $23 billion in assets following $11 billion in institutional inflows this year.
Approximately 35.8 million ETH, representing 30% of the total supply, is currently staked. Similar withdrawal patterns have emerged across major cryptocurrencies, with 40,000 BTC leaving exchanges in the past 30 days while retail investors accumulated 35,000 BTC.
