CoinGecko Names Bobby Ong CEO In Leadership Shake-Up
Crypto data provider CoinGecko has announced a leadership reshuffle as it looks to scale its enterprise offerings and strengthen its position as a global infrastructure player.
Co-founder Bobby Ong has been promoted from COO to CEO, succeeding fellow co-founder TM Lee, who will become President. Ong, who has overseen CoinGecko’s business strategy and operations for more than a decade, will now lead the company’s next phase of growth. Lee will focus on long-term product vision and new R&D initiatives.

CoinGecko also named Cedric Chan as Chief Technology Officer. Since joining in 2021, Chan has helped the firm’s API scale to 677 billion requests in the past year, while maintaining 99.95% uptime. As CTO, he will drive the company’s technical roadmap and AI integration.
In addition, Xingyi Ho has been promoted to Head of Product after spearheading CoinGecko’s growth and analytics functions since 2022.
