Samsung-Coinbase deal brings crypto to 75M U.S. Galaxy users

Samsung and Coinbase announced on October 3 that Galaxy device owners in the United States can now access Coinbase directly through Samsung Wallet. The integration reaches more than 75 million users and eliminates the need to download separate apps or switch between platforms.
Galaxy users in the US can now trade, stake, and manage crypto holdings from within Samsung Wallet. The integration includes access to Coinbase One, which provides zero trading fees on select assets, boosted staking rewards, and priority support. Benefits vary by region and subscription plan.
Samsung Wallet users in the United States are eligible for a three-month free Coinbase One trial. They can also claim a $25 credit after completing their first trade through the wallet. Coinbase One subscriptions renew automatically, and some membership features are not available in all regions.
Samsung Pay now links to Coinbase accounts, allowing Galaxy owners to fund purchases using their crypto holdings. Coinbase first enabled Samsung Pay funding within its own app across North America in late July. The October 3 announcement extends that capability to the wallet level for US Galaxy devices.
Both companies stated they plan to expand the integration to additional markets in the coming months. The current rollout is limited to the United States.

Shan Aggarwal, Coinbase's chief business officer, said the partnership combines Samsung's reach with Coinbase's platform to serve more than 75 million Galaxy users in the US, with international expansion planned. Drew Blackard, senior vice president of mobile product management at Samsung Electronics America, said Samsung Wallet serves millions of Galaxy users and the company continues adding functionality to the platform.
Samsung and Coinbase established their initial connection earlier in 2024 when Samsung Pay became a funding option inside the Coinbase app in the US and Canada. The October announcement builds on that relationship by placing Coinbase access directly within Samsung Wallet for US users, with both companies indicating plans for broader geographic availability.
